White Caps & Neptune's HorsesThe white crests of ocean waves have been variously referred to as 'foam', 'white caps' and, very poetically, 'Neptune's Horses'. The latter is a reference to the Roman god, Neptune, the god of the sea and horses, whose chariot was pulled by a white horse.
