Around the beginning of 2004, I joined a private forum for people building websites with Dombomb software. Soon after I joined, they were starting the 'colors project', and I wanted to join in.

But by the time I logged in, all of the colorful options had been taken. So I took white - it was really 'Hobsons choice' - no choice at all. I registered white-on.com, and started to build what was to become my second website.

The aim of the project was to construct web pages on the color theme, using the software. Somehow, I think I kind of missed the point. Oh, I made pages alright, lots of pages, and I did use the software. But I'd discovered the wide world of white themes, and was enjoying myself too much - I made way 'too many' plain ol content based pages.

I've been building White-On ever since. I've learned that most topics do have a white aspect, so every time I put up a new web site, I 'look for the white side', and put up some more pages on White-On.

I wouldn't deliberately start another site as untargeted as this one. Where should it go in a directory? Who are its readers? I really don't know. But I'm very glad I started to build White-On, as it was in building this site that I learned to enjoy web building. And people keep coming back, so I guess they enjoy reading it too!

Many writers, artists, and craftsmen have white themed creations, and I've built a small collection of their work. This site is supported by sales of these items. There's no hard-sell. But if you've enjoyed reading some part of this site, a visit to one of the sponsoring merchants will be much appreciated, and, of course, even more so, if you see an item you like, and choose to buy!
